Yuksporite is actually a Silicate mineral. It is most commonly used as a mineral specimen. Yuksporite is actually a rare and unusually named mineral. It is named for the Yukspor Mountains of the Kola Peninsula from where it was first discovered in the year part of the twentieth century. Yuksporite is only one of the many exotic minerals emerging from the vast mineral resources of the former Soviet Union. Yuksporite can be found showing nice yellow rose coloration and it is certainly a unique mineral exhibiting splendid images under polarizing microscopes used in optical mineralogy.

 

            Mineral Yuksporite is usually found exhibiting yellow-rose or reddish beige to pink color that appears more splendidly exhibited under polarized microscopes for mineralogists. Specimens of Yuksporite minerals are usually found opaque in appearance. Yuksporite is known to crystallize in the orthorhombic system of crystal formation. In optical mineralogy, this orthorhombic crystal system comprises crystals having three mutually perpendicular axes, of which all are of different lengths. The crystal habit of mineral Yuksporite as described in the optical mineralogy usually include micaceous masses that appears more interesting when evaluated with the aid of polarizing light microscopes for mineralogists. The hardness measure of mineral Yuksporite when it is evaluated using the Mohs scale method is usually found 5. The specific gravity measure of the mineral Yuksporite is approximately 2.8 to 3.0 grams per cubic centimeters, which is an average value. Yuksporite is most commonly found leaving a white streak when specimen is rubbed on a white porcelain streak plate. The best field indicators of mineral Yuksporite usually include color, crystal habit, locality and hardness. Yuksporite has limited occurrence to the Yukspor Mountains and other areas of the Kola Peninsula in Russia.
