The chemical formula of mineral Calciopetersite is inidcated by CaCu6[(PO4)2(PO3OH)(OH)6]•3(H2O). This mineral is usually found occuring in cavities in quartz veins at an abandoned quarry. Calciopetersite is also most commonly found at its type of locality at Domasov nad Bystrici, northern Moravia, Czech Republic. The name of this mineral was derived from its composition and relationship to petersite-(Y). Mineral Calciopetersite is known to crystallize in the hexagonal system of crystal formation. In optical mineralogy, the hexagonal system of crystallization comprises crystals having four axes. Three of which are positioned in a single plane with equal length and are symmetrically spaced. The fourth axis is found to be perpendicular to the other three axes.

Calciopetersite has no cleavage display even if it is evaluated more closely under polarizing microscope used in  thatthe field of optical mineralogy. Mineral Calciopetersite is most commonly found colored Olive green in hand sample. Most crystals of mineral Calciopetersite are found translucent to transparent in appearance. Mineral Calciopetersite is commonly found showing brittle to uneven fracture when evaluated under polarzed microscope for mineralogists. This is actually a very brittle fracture producing uneven fragments which is more clearly visible under petrographic polarizing microscope. The crystal habits of mineral Calciopetersite as described in the field of optical mineralogy usually include acicular forms occuring as needle-like crystals under polarized microscope. It can be also found radial, showing crystals that radiate from a center without producing stellar forms. The hardness measure of mineral Calciopetersite when it is evaluated using the Mohs scale method is usually found 3. Mineral Calciopetersite is commonly found exhibiting vitreous or glassy luster in reflected light of polarized microscope used in the field of optical mineralogy. Mineral Calciopetersite is most commonly found leaving light olive green streak when rubbed on a white porcelain streak plate. Mineral Calciopetersite is commonly found showing uniaxial positive figure under polarized microscope for mineralogists. It is also commonly found exhibiting 0.0650 to 0.0760 birefringence. Calciopetersite is a radioactive mineral.
